Since the South American country of Brazil was announced as winning the bid to host the 2014 FIFA World Cup, a massive build-up towards the event could be felt across the world.

This news has set a whole bunch of planning and literally, the ball rolling as the country prepared for a stadium and thousands of football fanatics around the world started saving towards their “take me to Brazil” fund to witness the men in studded boots in action.

With just over a week to go, Valentines Day is fast approaching us. For many, it’s a time to celebrate love, while for others, it may just be a day to say “love sucks” and move on.

Personally, when I think of Valentines Day, immediately what comes to mind are heart-shaped chocolates, roses and little notes handed out at school from “secret admirers”.

How the competition works is pretty straight forward, and with social media usage being so popular, entering this competition should come as second nature to many.

So what exactly would I have to do to enter?

The V-Day Flashbacks competition opened this week Monday and continues until February, 12th and calls all lovesick nostalgics to share their best Valentines Day memories via either Facebook or Twitter.

If you are planning on entering on Facebook, visit the Old Khaki Facebook page, like it and scroll down their timeline to the post about the competition. There, leave you comment about your best Valentines Day memory and see if you can stand out from the rest.

If you are entering on Twitter, visit the Old Khaki Twitter handle, follow them and tweet them with either a short explanation of picture of your best Valentines Day gift.

All entrants are able to enter the competition, both on Facebook and Twitter, and winners will be announced on Wednesday, February, 12.

Woolworths is spreading the love this season by giving away their R10 000 share of Woolworths gift cards to love-struck social media fans with their latest #declareyourlove competition.

With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, love is in the air so why don’t you share some of it and stand a chance to win a R250 Woolworths gift voucher to spend on anything from clothing to shoes, accessories, underwear or even food.

Excited about this promotion, I immediately visited the Woolworths website where I got the necessary information I needed so that I, too, could be part of all of the love and submit my entry.

How the competition works is that, as a Woolworths shopper, declare your love via social media with a short poem, pic, witticism or anything that would make a heart happy.

Whether you are in a relationship, want to share a loving moment with family or even a best friend, Woolworths is encouraging the sharing of love and wants you to join to stand a chance to win, their way of sharing their love with you.
